Commission information: Okay, this might get a little complicated, so bear with me.
What will you draw?
I'll do art of characters from any series of anime, manga, or video game, as long as you provide me with reference pictures of the character(s). (Not needed for Sailormoon fanart. =P) If you have an original character, just give me a detailed description--the more details, the better; if you don't describe it I wouldn't think to draw it. Please mention if you would like the coloring style to be cel-shaded or realistic, otherwise I will decide on my own.
What won't you draw?
Most things here I don't do not because I'm opposed to them, but because I'm not good at drawing them. ^^;; Maybe I'll get better eventually...
No excessive violence or gore; some blood is okay.
No explicit sexuality; artistic nudity and mild yaoi/yuri is okay.
No mecha; I can't even make heads or tails of them when I'm looking at them, much less draw. ^^;; In fact, I wouldn't suggest you asking me to draw much machinery (i.e. automobiles, complicated weaponery, etc.) at all...
I don't like to draw people acting out-of-character, but I'll try to compromise.
I'm not as familiar with drawing animals (that is, non-humans), but I'll do my best.
What medium do you use?
Unless otherwise requested, all commissions will be inked in pen and colored on the computer, because that's what I do best.
What will I receive?
After discussing the layout and design of the picture, I will send you a preview of the pencil rough draft through e-mail. You will receive a print of the finished work on paper, as well as a large copy of the image file on burned CD. If the commission is of an original character, the CD will also contain a copy of the original-sized (very huge!), uncompressed TIFF file. The print will be from my Epson 1000 ICS printer on 8 1/2x11" paper, at approximately 200-300 dpi.
How long will it take?
Since I'm being paid for the work, of course I'll work on it seriously like a real job. However, I am still a college student with a schedule. I probably won't need much more than two weeks to finish an average picture, but if you need it in time for something, I suggest asking at least one or two months in advance. And then there's also shipping time and other works-in-progress (see top of page) to consider...
The big question: How much will it cost?
Here's where it gets a bit tricky. Add up each of the following categories: (all rates are in US dollars)
$5 for each character in the picture, $6 for each exceeding a group of three. For instance, a five-person pose would be $5x3=$15, plus $6x2=$12 for the extra two characters, for a total of $27.
$5-$15 for a specific background scene, depending on how much detail is in the setting. If you don't ask for this, the background will be simple colors/patterns.
$1 extra if you would like the print to be on glossy photo paper, instead of the regular photo-quality ink jet paper. There is a noticable difference in printing quality. =)
$3 for shipping and materials. That includes the paper, printer ink, CD, and padded manila envelope sent via first-class mail.
How do I pay you?
I'm afraid I can only take PayPal so far. However, if you sign up for a free account, you can charge a credit card or bank account through PayPal.
Can't I get anything for free?
Sorry, but I'm afraid I can no longer take free requests due to a lack of time.
Can I purchase prints of artwork already on the site?
Not all of the artwork are available in print quality, and I'm working on organizing them. However, if you are interested in a print of anything, feel free to e-mail me and we'll discuss it. Prices may range approximately $5-$20 plus shipping, depending on the quality and size of the picture.
Finally, a few more notes:
Even if you offer me mucho money, there's no guarantee that I can take every request, whether due to time, ability, or my own preference.
I retain the right to display all commissioned works on this website and in my portfolio.
The rules on this page may change at any time to reflect my schedule and financial needs.
If you have something in mind for a request/commission that's not covered on this page, feel free to ask me. Nothing wrong with being creative!
WHEW. If after all that you would STILL like a picture from me, or if you have any questions, send me an e-mail here.
